Stefi
After studying Political Science at CWU and holding a couple of corporate sales positions, Stefi began her tattooing journey in 2020 in Arlington, WA. After moving to Cathlamet in 2022 she tried to find her place outside of art, but quickly realized she was not satisfied with anything else. With friends and family still up in the Seattle area she decided to start out with a mobile shop so she could work from both of her homes.
Nick
Nick is the shop manager and Stefi’s boyfriend, in that order. He handles the things Stefi doesn’t want to touch, like taxes, inventory, and the gross stuff that gets stuck in the kitchen sink. He has his bachelors in History from WSU and masters in business from WGU. He painted a really pretty dandelion once and considers his art career to have peaked there.
Stoneriver is derived from a translation of Hallstrom, the name Stefi took from her Swedish grandpa who was kicked out of Sweden by his preacher father for canoodling with another preacher’s daughter. That part has nothing nothing to do with the shop, but Stefi likes the story. Art runs in the family with her mother and grandfather being accomplished amateur artists. On the Swedish side, Stefi’s great great grandfather was a professional artist and her great great uncle was head of art restoration at the palace in Stockholm. Stefi, ever more humble, is satisfied with stabbing people artistically instead.
